Here was a glimpse into another time in place when the original Wesley Hospital and Nurses Training school first opened more than 1/2 a century before, in keeping with God's command to heal the sick. And in an effort to satisfy the need for a modern Protestant hospital between Kansas City and Denver, the Southwest Kansas Conference of the Methodist Church first opened Wesley in 1912 in a three story building at 11th and Saint Francis.
