The ritual is the center point of the practice of Wicca as a religion and can also be used for spell casting. This chapter will walk you through the steps of the ritual from start to finish. The incantations used in this sample ritual are only one example of the type of incantations you can use for your own rituals. Your incantations can be to specific gods or spirits, or you can keep it more general. As you gain more experience, you will likely discover a preferred method when looking to augmentor ritual with incantations to specific gods, goddesses and spirits. Remember the type of spells that you intend to cast in the ritual and choose to honor gods or goddesses by inclusion in your incantations that fit those spells the best. For example, love spells can be more powerful if you include goddesses that have Dominion over love, such as Aphrodite, Ian, the Greek pantheon, Hathor of the Egyptian pantheon, Freya of the Norse Pantheon or any of the love goddesses from the different pantheon of the world. Before you use the ritual space for the ritual and spell casting the space as well as the tools that will be used must be cleansed in a purifying ritual. This chapter will include samples of purifying rituals for both of thes. As with the ritual itself, these are examples that you can use or modify as your desire. Some practitioners use a more comprehensive purification ritual, while others might use a more truncated one. This is up to you purification ritual for the ritual space, as the purification of the ritual tools takes place on the altar in the ritual space, purifying the ritual space must happen first. Physically cleaning is the first step dust sweep or vacuum the floor, etcetera. It is often best to use natural cleaning products as artificial sense. Added to many. Cleaning products can interfere with the ambience of the ritual space and could disrupt the casting of the spell with the ritual space. After physically cleaning, the next step is to ritually purify it. This requires a few items a dish of salt, incense, two white candles and a dish of water. Take these items to the altar and arrange them with the dish of salt to the north of the room, representing the spirits of the earth. The incense in the east, representing the spirits of the air, one of the candles to the south, representing the spirits of fire and the dish of water to the west representing the spirits of the waters. The second white candle is placed in the middle of the altar like the center candle, but none of the others. Yet five additional candles should replace that the five points of the pentagram at the outskirts of the ritual area with the spirit candle placed to the north. If you cannot use candles for these points, substitute led candles if you can, or any other small lights regarding the choice of incense. There are several types of incense that can be bought or made. These include stick incenses as well as resonance senses that need to have a charcoal puck to smoke for the purification ritual. A small incense stick placed on an incense burner filled with salt is often the best choice. This is the easiest type toe work with and also the safest resin. Incense provides more smoke and can be better personalized with your own mix, but the charcoal puck makes moving the incense burner much more dangerous. As to the type of incense, choose one that is known for its purification power, such as frankincense or dragon's blood. But that also has powers associated with the types of spells you intend to cast inside the ritual circle. The first step in the purification ritual is to pour the salt into the water, take a large pinch of salt in your right hand and Sprinkle it into the water, saying we beseech the spirits of the Earth to charge and consecrate this water, swirl the water with your finger and say, spirits of water, We beseech you to charge and purify our ritual space.
