Hello, My name is Ann. I'll be guiding you through the geodetic awareness course. In this course, we will describe the general concept of geographic and projected coordinate reference systems and how they're used to describe locations on or beneath the surface of the Earth. Coordinate systems, air used by BP to support safe and accurate operation, exploration and maintenance of activities, latitude and longitude, or east ings, and nor things can be referenced. Two different mathematical models of the Earth coordinates can be transformed between different reference systems. The purpose of this course is to provide clarity over the concepts of geodetic measurements. The air's and coordinate systems can result in positional errors of several 100 m or kilometers. Geodetic measurements control the definition of directions, depths and elevations of positional integrity in E and P operations and data and BP. At the end of the course, you will take a quiz to receive your geodetic awareness certificate.
