James "Alex" del Castillo is a former prosecuting attorney for Cook County (Chicago), a former United States Navy intelligence and foreign disclosure officer, and a prior enlisted United States Marine with a civil affairs and psychological operations background. He graduated cum laude with a double major in English and history from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and earned a Juris Doctor from the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.
Over the course of his career as a Chicago prosecutor, Alex litigated over thirty-five felony jury trials maintaining an +85% conviction rate. He led the prosecution of multiple courtroom caseloads regularly consisting of over four hundred individual felony criminal matters and worked with law enforcement agencies to investigate criminal activities. Alex prepared over twenty-five briefs addressed to the Illinois Appellate Court, over ten petitions for leave to appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court, and conducted oral arguments at the appellate level. He reached the capstone of his prosecutor career after ensuring a jury conviction against Chicago serial-killer Michael Johnson in 2015--Johnson was sentenced to 100 years imprisonment for his crimes.
Alex is currently employed by Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. as a Senior Communication Consultant. Alex heads the market for special operations forces in Europe and Africa, while simultaneously managing a team of staff that delivers planning, strategy, policy, and assessments expertise to Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR), its subordinate commands, and the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM).
