I have been acting on stage since 1992. I got my first on-camera opportunity at the end of 1998, and have pursued acting through both venues since. I studied acting and playwriting in college, getting almost enough credits to make theatre my third minor. I studied at the MasterWorks Festival for four years, getting one-on-one instruction from Rich Swingle (The Lamb’s Theatre), John Kirby (acting coach on movies like Narnia, PeterPan, and Stick It), Peter Parros (As the World Turns), Patricia Mauceri (One Life to Live), Susan Somerville Brown and Carole Jaudes (CATS on Broadway), and others. I was eventually chosen to teach the improvisation class at the festival because I had acquired the skills needed. I interned on the set of the movie Private Valentine doing craft service but also observing the cast and crew in action. I also studied under Kymberly Harris, MFA, from the Actor's Studio.
I started to direct drama in college, first leading a college drama team for two years and then later starting a beginning drama class for local high school students. I taught basic skills and was able to help students achieve their first monologues on stage. Then I wrote, directed and starred in a madrigal dinner play for an audience of 300+ using over 40 volunteers. I bring several important qualities to the table. I excel in creative output, have a wide knowledge base and enjoy creating solutions to problems. I will bring the same energy, positive attitude, and knowledge to your company that has enabled me to be successful thus far. I am a leader but very good at taking orders and being part of a team. I appreciate your consideration of me as a benefit to you and your company and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Christi Koehl
