managing your emotional energy is probably a new concept for you frankly, I've never heard anyone talk about this except me having read thousands of books on success and self improvement. I've never read it anywhere else. Learning to manage my emotional energy has had a dramatic impact on my life and it can have a dramatic impact on your life too. Emotions play a major role in our lives. Emotions are feelings but they're much more than just passive feelings that exist in us. Negative emotions can drag us down and drain us of energy, positive and exciting emotions can lift us up and cause us to be incredibly creative and productive. Emotions may not have a physical location like the brain does, although even the brain is now believed to extend outside the skull. But emotions are unquestionably powerful driving forces in our lives, emotions are intricately in play with every other part of who we are. So it's impossible to know precisely how much of a role emotions play in how we think and feel? Some would argue that emotions are just feelings, but that would be far too simplistic. There can be no question that our emotions can run wild or be managed intelligently, just like a fire which can either be controlled for good or can run wild and cause tremendous damage? Emotions can be wisely used and managed for good in our lives or emotions uncontrolled can lead us down dangerous paths. So how do you manage your emotional energy? And how do you increase your emotional energy? Emotions are largely a derivative of our mental psychological and spiritual condition. That isn't to say, we can't create an instant emotion by virtue of physical control combined with mood control. It's hard to feel sad when you're laughing hard, neuroscience is a powerful tool to control mental and emotional responses, but in the bigger picture of who we are and what triggers our behaviors, emotions are more a result than a primary stimuli. For example, if you have unresolved psychological issues that trigger negative emotions, you'll feel pain or discomfort on the emotional and spiritual levels if you are experiencing mental conflicts with major beliefs and you're being pulled in one direction by your survival instinct and in another direction by your conscience. Your emotions will be sending out all kinds of loud signals. If you are in spiritual turmoil, your emotions will be sending you big messages. One of the challenges you'll experience is that your ability to control and guide your emotions will largely be the result of how well you control the underlying cause of the emotions. So the first and the most important step in managing your emotions is to address weaknesses in your mental psychological and spiritual life that takes work and it takes perseverance. Great progress does not happen overnight. Although you can have major breakthroughs overnight. What takes time after a breakthrough is working out how the new beliefs and new practices will play out in the rest of your life anytime you make major progress in your personal growth, you will be different, you'll be different in your workplace, you'll be different to those closest to you and you'll feel different to yourself. But that is the nature of making big progress in life, right? Progress means change. So if you're committed to making progress in your life, be willing to live through the changes. If you want to make something beautiful in your life and impact those you love most and perhaps leave a legacy for the rest of us, you must face your greatest fears and successfully overcome the pain. What other path in life is worthy of you? You are wonderfully and uniquely made and you deserve to become all that you can possibly become. And isn't that something great? Of course it is. Consider this God may have chosen you to change the world. Are you going to say no?
