I have always been a fan of radio. Not just for the music, but mostly for the extensive entertainment that is available in the way of radio shows that were once a staple of the American families form of entertainment. From basic news casts to the more extensive and well written dramas and comedies my interest of radio and the possibilities has always been strong. Today, with new technology and younger audiences, the mainstream form of verbal entertainment has indeed changed. Radio programs that kept you glued to a radio set have seen a revival in that they are able to be played upon demand via the internet allowing for a new generation of listeners. This has created a very broad audience and the potential for reaching many more listeners than ever before in history. My experience in radio ranges from script writing to news casts to basic disc jockeying. As a basic disc jockey I announced music, weather reports, and did the news casts during my time slot. I wrote many radio drama scripts for Shoestring Radio Theater that broadcast on public radio in California. That was enjoyable as well as educational. It was more for fame than fortune but the opportunity was well worth the exchange.
