Dawn hosted a three hour weekly radio/alternative music/interview show via CFBU Radio Brock, Brock University, hosting many interesting guests from the world of business, arts, culture, and music.
In addition to various radio and television interviews as part of government liason projects (P.A.L.S., Community Theatre, Arts and Healthcare, and other efforts, through the years )with CHCH TV, Channel 11, Cable 6 and University stations via CFBU Radio Brock and their contributions to the Brock newspaper, Dawn also wrote reviews for new music/alternative rock/indie rock/world music for Brock's Student Newspaper, conducted research and reported results via T.V. interviews with CHCH TV's Jennifer Mossop, as government liaison, for Niagara Agricultural groups on the viability of the industry in an area increasingly under pressure, development-wise; served on the SEAC Committee (Special Education Advisory Committee) for the Lambton County Board of Education for 3 years, for Special Needs Students; served on the Board of Directors for the Sarnia Little Theatre, served as a member of the Group's playreading committee, deciding on works to be presented, seasonally, on behalf of the group and its volunteers; served as Associate Professor of English/Communications Studies at Lambton College for the Science and Technology, Business and General Arts, and Social Services, Nursing and Human Services divisions, for several years, as well as writing and delivering courses for both the Sciences and Humanities Divisions; taught overseas in South Korea for both Women's Middle School, and private school environments, including the hosting of Native Speaker sessions for resident teaching staff, upon invitation; received awards for her character portrayals as an artist and actress from the WODL (Western Ontario Drama League); headed up two different live jazz and jazz and R&B groups as a lead vocalist and band leader, which played at various festivals and venues, including the London Army/Navy Club, Dundurn Jazz Festival, CBC - via the Brigden Fair, (unfortunately but happily getting upstaged by a wild sheep-shearing), various private clubs and venues through Central Ontario, Ottawa, Eastern Michigan, and Western New York; participates as an ongoing coach and consultant via Arts In Healthcare in music, art, dance and writing; is an active member of, and a two-book published author of the C.A.A. (Canadian Authors Association); is also a published visual artist, painter, and sculptor, and is deeply interested in fashion design and the role of design and practicality in the art of everyday betterment. She has a Bachelor's Degree and college diplomas in several disciplines, as well as a background in security, including industrial and organizational security, including explosives and accident prevention in fire environments.
