My voice has been known to leave listeners speechless. When I worked at a small firm, I would occasionally operate the switchboard. On several occasions, callers hearing me fell silent, then said I should be a radio announcer, instead of whatever I was currently doing. Now I am trying to market that (apparently) striking sound.
My voice is a deep baritone, my accent standard, middle American, with no strong regional character. It carries well, and can be heard over surrounding sounds, ensuring the message it conveys is heard. I generally strive for an approachable, yet convincing tone, trying to make complex, challenging material inviting - and even enticing.
When speaking skillful writing, I aim to let the words themselves dominate. That is, to let my voice (inflection, timing, etc.) serve as a mere “medium” to convey them, drawing the least possible attention to itself, so a listener is more mindful of the words than of me.
I will consider most voiceover work, but as my samples - read in single, unbroken takes - demonstrate, I prefer longer assignments - narration, or audio books - to short, retail-focused ones. But again, inquiries for any type of job are welcome.
