Hello listeners, this is Angie, you're listening to Urban Nights radio dot com. The sound of Artist Welcome to Sounds about right where we listen to soundtracks from popular films and television and talk about what makes those soundtracks work so well for that type of genre only on Urban nights radio dot com. The sound of artists Kenny Donovan here and today's soundtracks and film are based on action movies. Before we start listening to some action packed film scores, let's talk about what goes in to create a heart pumping action theme. Cinematic action music is mainly focus on using a high tempo with driving rhythms and intense energy tempo or bpm is one of the most important elements of both action and energy. Think of your tempo as a pulse and heartbeat of your action music. High tempo typically means more excitement. However, the way you play those notes makes a huge difference, meaning that if you play 16th note passages against the fast tempo, you're going to give yourself a high amount of energy versus playing whole note of the same fast tempo, which in turn will give you a drop of momentum and rhythmic energy. Today's reoccurring soundtrack that you will hear throughout this episode is from Tenant directed by Christopher Nolan and composed by Ludwig Goransson, whose deep, dark and intense score expertly supports Nolan's super puzzling storyline and jaw dropping visuals. After that we're going to listen to lalo Schifrin score that shakes up the classic action tuned by adding oriental ella in the end of the dragon. Next we'll listen to the franchise that brought the cinematic apocalypse mainstream in the original Mad max, composed by brian May. Then we'll check out john Carpenter's dystopian action thriller escape from new york, which has one of the most badass action themes ever made. The perfect synthesized musical theme to accompany snake skins, futuristic mayhem. Hope you enjoy Only on Urban Nights radio dot com. Once again, we're back on Sounds about right, Only on Urban Nights radio dot com. The sound of artists. Something else is most imaginative music using the original Blade Runner film occurs when it manages to mutually coexist with the visuals in the movie as his electronic driven score ultimately fuses with the film's iconic imagery.
