Rosie immediately dropped next to Charles and took his pulse. She looked up at me. Well, you didn't kill him so that's good. But I do believe a phone call to the police and probably an ambulance are in order. She pulled out her phone and casually began to dial as if she were simply ordering a pizza. I stood slightly dazed, letting the chair drop from my hands. I couldn't believe I had done that. Looking over at the old woman, she held her throat but seemed otherwise unharmed. Are you all right? I asked her. Oh yes, I will be fine. But when the police get here, it might be a good idea to ask them to look into whether Charles here owns a gun. I wouldn't be surprised if he happened to be the guilty party in yesterday's murder. She turned to the baristas. Have you made his coffee yet? Because if not, I don't think he'll have it then I could use an extra shot of caffeine. I have a feeling it's going to be a long day.
