mom, I love barney a lot and I'm so grateful you and dad let me have my own horse. But there was a long pause, tears pooled in Claire's eyes, but she tried to hold them in. I just really wish I had a horse I could do lessons with when they could jump but I feel awful asking for another horse. Claire sniffled and looked down at the floor. Your dad and I were just talking about this last night. I guess Dad said no already actually he didn't. He has been amazed by how hard you've worked with Mr Fox and how you have never once complained about barney, even though we all know he can't do what you love, we need to find the right horse for you. But I really do love Barney and I don't want to sell him. Don't worry about Barney. Dad and I both love him too and he's not going anywhere, he's a mess, but he's my mess. Claire giggled, He does like you the most. I know Melissa says he thinks I'm his mom and I'm afraid she might be right. They both laughed, but Claire was quickly serious again. I want to help choose. This time. I know last year I would have picked any horse with four hooves, but I know what I want now. All right, we'll start looking again tomorrow. I'll ask around the barn and we'll sort through some listings online.
