So watching them so easily, disconnect from the stresses of daily life and slip into the silly adventurous, wild and free versions of themselves was a lesson all its own. But this trip wasn't just about hanging poolside. My grandma especially has a wild side. She's a total adrenaline junkie exploring the rock formations and cool morning air in Joshua tree was like stepping onto a different planet. The transcendent energy connecting with the beauty of nature. It's like this magical place strengthened our bond taking in the moment surrounded by these awe inspiring landscapes alongside these women that mean so much to me. It was truly an emotional experience. I never would have thought my grandma would rip her around a racetrack or climb up on an enormous horse or even say yes to a spa day. But she did. And I don't think I've ever seen her happier. She showed me that life is meant to be a joy, to seize every opportunity for joy. Leigh hunt once said, traveling in the company of those we love is home in motion. This magical place so far away from the UK, taught me something every once in a while to discover a new destination with the people you love is to discover a deeper sense of love entirely.
