After graduation in Michigan, I moved to Orlando, Florida and started to work for Walt Disney World at EPCOT Center and Bus operations. I then (at the same time) got invoved with the airlines. I have now been with the airlines going on 24 years. What got me interested in voice announcments is the fact of what all my friends, family and co-workers/Managers have told me hundreds of times. I cannot count how many times people have said "Are you a disc Jockey" or "you have an unbelievable speeking voice" just by ordering tickets to a movie etc, od “why are you wasting your talents with the airlines?" You see, I had to do public announcenments at Disney as well as bus operations and the airlines. I remember like it was yesterday after I had made a quite lengthy announcement to our passengers, the GM walked right up to be a siad "You know Mike, I sure wish we could record your voice when your not working and just push play" I will never forget that. Just last week after making another lengthy announcment at my airline gate, a passenger started to board, stopped and turned around and said "I just wanted to tell you that you have an unbelievable speeking voice”. The current airport I am working wants me to go to the local studio and record the airport announcments that are required by the FAA, TSA and the Department of trasportation. I gladly accepted!! I have had this type of announcing voice since I can remember and finally would like to do something about it. Another example is when I worked for Disney, we had to take the ferry boat to the Magic Kindom to report to work. I asked a friend of mine, instead of playing the recording, let me do it live! reluctantly he agreed. After the ferry boat trip was over, many of the ferry boat cast members came up to me stating that I "blew their mind" and that they had no idea I could do that! As my manager stated "your wasting your time here" So I am looking for a chance and/or break so that a studio could see what I can do as well as coach me.I feel this is what I was meant to do!
