Naomi first became interested in voice-over acting when she read a Dr. Seuss book aloud her senior year of high school at a library reading. Despite her high pitched voice, a confidence was able to exude during reading, one that's never been known before since she knew her speaking voice sounded like a 3-year-old's.
After the read a loud, Naomi was approached and listeners thought the secret behind her delivery was due to sucking helium from a balloon prior to reading.
Listeners had to be assured time and time again it was just her natural voice.
The librarian who booked her to read thought Naomi's voice was suitable for cartoon voices and should create a YouTube channel to display her talent.
Initially, Naomi didn't pay it to mind too much as her focus was on college.
Naomi graduated with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a minor in Law.
Two short years later, she met a music producer who told her she has a unique voice and asked Naomi if she ever considered voice over work.
Not sure what it entailed, Naomi asked for clarification and quickly became excited to know that not only is her voice is versatile enough to sing but that the same voice can act as an escape to a completely different character and that it could be monetized.
Naomi was soon introduced to the software program Logic Pro, where she would record her voice and mimic characters. From high pitched cartoony voices to granny voices to multi-lingual (French Creole and Spanish) a passion soon emerged, leading her to sharpen her skills by attending improv classes to further get into and develop characters that provide her more tools to enhance her voice over work.
