I am new to voice over work. I have had no formal education or professional experience. I am trying to learn about the industry since being offered a voice over job on an outsourcing site. The job was to voice over the client's internal training video. Both pieces were very short (less than 2 minutes each), but I had to time what I was saying to what was being done on screen. Needless to say, for my first time, I was impressed with myself as was the client. He had never given a bonus to any other contractor on any other outsourcing site before.
Because of this experience, I thought I would try my hand at the industry. I would be interested in simple, short voice overs in the instructional realm initially. Perhaps over time, I may not find this a suitable industry to pursue. For now, I am intrigued and excited to learn more.
