Have you ever wondered how we got here? How we made it this far? Let's go back. No, not that far back back to ancient Mesopotamia where one ordinary person pressed symbols into clay and something extraordinary happened for the next 5000 years. Written language will unlock the potential of mankind and bring us through to the modern age. Enter Adam braun a chubby cheeked little lad. Born in Greenwich Connecticut with a bright future and a loving family. Adam grew up, went to a prestigious college and applied for a semester at sea. He would see the world before moving to the big city and forging a career in finance. All was going according to plan. But then something happened. Three storm systems pummeled the cruise ship Mv Explorer. Their ship was caught in a terrible storm and for a moment Adam was sure he was going to die. But our story doesn't end here. In fact, this is where it begins. Adam's journey continued with a new sense of purpose. He started asking a child in every country he visited. If you could have anything in the world, what would it be? A little boy in India reply a pencil. Adam started pencils of promise with only $25 in the bank account. His goal was to build one school but one school led 2 to 2 countries led to three and 10 years later with the help of dozens of employees. Thousands of donors and millions of dollars pop now impacts hundreds of thousands of students around the world and won't stop until every child on earth can have access to the tools they need to write their own future. Adam found his purpose to inspire others, that one person can make a difference, that $25 can start a movement and that together we can make it this far.
