had low thing Welcome. My name is live a rocky I'm the greatest piano player in the world. Through a two least the greatest piano player who also happens to be a lever, you've probably come to my concert toe. Learn about a disease that hurts livers like me called Primary by Lory Collinge Itis. Now you may think I'm bragging. But, kid, let me tell you, livers have talent. The liver is the largest organ in the body and performs 500 functions that keep you healthy. One of the most important things it does is help turn the food you eat into energy so you can play and do school work when the body is healthy and everything is working as it should. It's like a concert, but sometimes one of the body parts has a problem and throws things off. Primary by Larry Cholangitis or PBC, for short, is a disease that attacks the lever. Speaking as a lever, I can tell you that PBC is not fun. PDC affects everyone a little differently. A sick lever can make some people feel tired and have to rest a lot. It can also make people very, very itchy It's not like catching a cold because cold go away in a few days. PBC doesn't go away, so people may have to visit the doctor. Often. This is normal. The doctor wants to make sure the PBC doesn't get worse. The doctor may perform a biopsy, which only means that they take some cells from the liver to study. Doctors can give medicine for PBC, but they still can't cure. In some cases, if PBC has gotten very bad, people go to the hospital to get a new liver. It's a special operation called a transplant. It takes time to recover, but the person will eventually feel a lot better. Perhaps your mom has PBC or your aunt or grandma or uncle. More women than man get PBC. Scientists don't know why some people get it and others don't. There's a lot about PBC notto like right. Let's take a moment to talk about you. Okay, here's the thing. Nothing you can do or say causes PBC not throwing snowballs, not teasing your pets, not even messing up your bedroom. PBC is nobody's fault. It just happens. And if someone you love has PBC, especially if they take care of you. It can be ******* you as well. That's because PBC can make them feel tired a lot. They may ask someone else to pick you up from school or make you dinner, but there's always something you can do together, like watch movies instead of playing outside. It's not that they don't want to do more with you or that they love you any less. It's just that PBC can take their energy away. Even though I'm a liver in your kid, I bet we feel the same way. It's not fair, Theo. It's good to let your feelings out. PBC can make me so angry. It can also make me feel sad and even scare. Maybe that's how you feel, too. I'm talking to you about it, and you can talk to someone about it as well. It could be a parent, a teacher and aunt or uncle. You may find out that others feel the same way you do. I want you to know that scientists are working hard to find a cure. So maybe someday soon livers like me can stop worrying about PBC. Well, that's all for now. Don't forget live Araki, the world's greatest piano playing liver. If you have any questions, ask your mom or dad or anyone else who looks after you.
