Personally, I can say for certain that the most creative instrument I have is my voice.
Being able to switch between voices , showing emotions by a slight change in sound, it is all a process I greatly enjoy.
As a professional, I try to understand by the words or lyrics the manner or method required to interpret the words by my voice.

Do I sing this softly or powerfully?
I enjoy doing what I do which is probably why I am good at it.
