About Jurgen Ringer
Jurgen has a trained Baritone voice (he has actually sung Opera for a paying audience); it is resonant and authoritative - a slightly lower voiced Morgan Freeman. The 8 demos show just some of the many voices Jurgen can deliver. He has other, more specialized ones, such as "silly uptight woman" and "silly uptight male", and "female heroine". If you have specialized requirements, do give Jurgen a shout - he can help you!
In addition to his exceptional vocal talents, Jurgen also has theatrical experience, performing starring roles for the Williams AMT Theater and the Peoria Players. He has done a great deal of teaching, including teaching night school at Carnegie Mellon, and talks to business groups (see demo).
Jurgen also has education and experience that makes it easier for him to sound convincing and credible. It is just easier to sound like an expert if you actually are a Management Professional in real life.
Jurgen's formal education is ideal for VO: A major in English, a minor in Chemical Engineering, and a Graduate Degree in Industrial Administration. That means he can write and talk, and is comfortable with technical and management subjects.
Mr. Ringer worked his way up to Senior Executive positions through a successful career in Marketing. He then spent years running companies that needed fixing, and starting his own business. So, he has hands on experience actually delivering, in real life, nearly all of the messages that VO artists are asked to repeat: Explaining technical subjects to customers, hands on operators, management employees, and sales trainees. Giving motivating and reassuring messages to employees, owners, and partners, particularly when there is trouble. Delivering talks on management subjects and public policy to informed audiences (see demo). This background gives Jurgen the confidence and authority to deliver clients' messages the way they want them delivered.
Finally, Jurgen was born in Germany, and came to this country at the age of 16. He speaks English with a very slight accent, that is called "New England" by people who do not know him, and "German" by people who know he was born in that country. Either way, he sounds authoritative, confident, classy, educated, and convincing, either in English or in German.
Jurgen accepts VO work that calls for voices ranging from a young man before his voice breaks all the way to a tough old man with a deep, gravelly Baritone. Languages can be East Coast American English or cultured German (hochdeutsch). The impression can be relaxed through commanding, with authoritative, educated, and classy in between. Always reliable and believable.
He also has considerable talent as a writer, which he can put to work for any client that wants him to. Many clients just seek another view on their scripts from someone who is frequently an expert at the communication challenges they face, such as motivating employees. Of course, as a seasoned Senior Executive, Jurgen is careful never to volunteer opinions which have not been asked for.
Jurgen also has a very high IQ, which is frequently convenient.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: All of the Ringer demos and auditions are produced and recorded in the Ringer home studio, with no artificial augmentation such as can be found in demos produced in a professional sound studio. So, clients can be assured that, if they choose to hire Jurgen, they will get what they heard in the demos and the auditions.
In addition to having a trained Baritone voice, and the ability to deliver a large number of different voices, Jurgen has a great deal of experience actually delivering messages to real people and live audiences. That makes it much easier for him to sound comfortable, reliable, authoritative, believable and commanding - really, whatever the client is looking for.
His experience has been with technical products and subjects. Working his way up through Marketing, he spent some time as a consultant in the selection and training of first line sales representatives. Next, he created and presented technical talks on heavy construction and mining equipment. Then came a series of general management assignments, which also involved sales presentations for for major opportunities, like selling the engineering management of the DFW airport on using his company's guide way for the people mover, and the architects on specifying the specialty cement developed under his leadership for the concrete structures. Next, he became a "turnaround" specialist, which involved running nearly a dozen troubled companies in five different industries. In addition to management expertise, this required quickly learning different technologies, and communicating with people who were worried, not to say scared. You have to be very sure of yourself to do that kind of work, and you have to look and act sure of yourself. You just have to pick the right kind of VO work, and you will sound perfect!
Eventually, Jurgen became tired of making money for other people and started his own home building company, which dominated the market it served for many years. Convincing ladies that they should accept your advice on the "nest" they want built for them is the second toughest selling job in the world. (The first is persuading a company owner that he should pay you $200 to $300 an hour because you know more about running his business than he does, and you are going to show him how to do it!)
