Mike Jack Stoumbos is a narrator, tutor, singer, and character actor. He is comfortable (and well versed) in instructional and informational presentation, and has some experience with audio promotions and advertisements.
In the past, he has recorded promotional material for Double Exclamation Games, as well as educational material for the Edmonds and Evergreen School Districts in Washington State.
Mike Jack studied acting at the UW school of drama (Bachelor of Arts), and later earned a Masters in Teaching and taught English Language Arts and Theatre Arts. He has been involved in several theatrical productions, including musicals, as a writer, director, and actor. In addition, he consistently practices public speaking as a teacher and tutor; he has competed in singing tournaments from the serious to the silly (including captaining the champion team in the Seattle Karaoke League). Mike Jack Stoumbos's favorite way to develop new voice styles is by running roleplaying games.
Although he is relatively new to voiceover work, he has a lot of paid, academic, and other experiences that contribute to his skills and comfort in this field.
+Homework Helpline: Mike Jack was a live, televised tutor on a cable television program, in which students would send in homework questions for his team to solve and teach. This work involved phone communication and live recording in front of microphones and cameras.
+Contract Writing and Editing: After about 5 years of seasonal, part-time, and full-time freelance writing, Mike Jack is very well-versed in taking contracts for a variety of content types. For example, he often wrote articles for online medical journals and college ad content for search engine optimization firms. In this work, he would have to research the content, write in a conversational way (using the required terms accurately), and present a polished finished product with short turnaround time.
+Teaching High School--with video lessons: As a math teacher, Mike Jack created online video lessons on his class website, using Screencastify software to show while talking through the content. He recorded these unscripted mini-lessons in a single take of an average of 10 minutes.
