What We Launched in Fall 2020

Anne Joldersma | January 29, 2021

While we may have been putting 2020 in our rearview over the fall, we definitely weren’t saying goodbye to making platform improvements. It was a quieter season for us (and with good reason, but more on that later) in terms of quantity of updates, but it was no less exciting. With this, the fourth in our series of Platform Update Recaps, we take a look back at what happened over October, November, and December.

Usage and Budget Sections Added to Job Posting Form

On Voices, everything starts with two things: a talent profile and a job posting. To begin the fall, we focused on the latter of these two. We made improvements to two existing portions of our job posting form, breaking those portions out into their own dedicated sections because of their importance in providing direction to invited talent.

Usage was given more prominence in the job posting process, and was updated to give more flexibility around the duration of usage for internet ads:

The Budget section got a visual overhaul, giving clients a better understanding of their options when pricing their project. This new, intuitive design is easier to navigate, while taking into consideration things like minimums for broadcast work, and providing a link to our Rate Guide for additional guidance:

Deepen Client-Talent Trust with Voices Verified

Before the end of the month, we introduced Voices Verified, an identity, community, and expertise verification system for our Premium and Platinum Talent. When looking at members of our talent community, we asked three questions built on those pillars:

  • Identity: Is this talent who they say they are?
  • Community: Is this talent in good standing with our Community and Content Guidelines, as well as our Terms of Service?
  • Expertise: Has this talent completed more than 100 jobs on Voices?

If we were able to answer yes to all three, we applied a ‘Voices Verified’ badge to their profile:

What’s Coming up for Winter 2021

While it may look like not much happened over the fall, that’s because we had our heads down working hard on some major projects, one of which we’ve already announced:

Earlier this week we also, for the first time, shared with our talent community our plans for 2021 and beyond as a creative services marketplace as well as our refreshed, more modern look as Voices:

If you have questions about our plan, you can check out this Q&A post, or watch this video:

If you’re curious about how these plans are likely to play out in 2021, you can take a look at our Product Roadmap, something we are sharing externally for the first time:

As you can see, we are more than making up for the relatively quiet fall with an already busy start to 2021.

To keep up to date on the improvements we are introducing, visit the Product News section of our blog, subscribe to our marketing communications, or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
