My grip tightens on the sodden rope nodded through my fingers, and I stretch a top and low across the sleep covered quagmire that used to be the road to town. I fastened one end of the rope to the massive graveyard gates and the other secure around the trunk of a victory. Black gum. I think a flash confuses me. Lightning in winter. How odd but helpful.
