How can I protect my auditions?

Protecting Your Auditions

In the past, it was recommended that talent add an audio watermark to audition files that would render the audio useless for broadcast while still giving the client a good impression of your abilities.

Voices.com no longer suggests watermarking to protect your auditions. It is difficult to embed a watermark into an audio file without distracting from the performance and diminishes the quality of an audition. Clients have told us that they find it distracting and often delete auditions that are watermarked.

Our recommendation is to only read a portion of the script provided and to slate. Slating is simply stating your name at the beginning of the audition file.
