The figure barely stood as tall as Kudrin's chin, and he was below average for a human and looked to weigh little more than a child. But what throws Kidron on the spot was the way that the unseen face beneath the hood inclined itself to look directly at him, and gave him the distinct feeling of someone gazing intently into his eyes. The figure's head inclined infinitesimally, but as it did so the room brightened, the noise faded, and Kidron felt his spell vanish like mist before morning sunlight.
