self confessed Alfa male. Chris is the CEO and founder of the flat group of companies and is a leader in business motivation, Turnaround strategy on business development. Before you assume his message is not for you or he's a sexist pig, I should add that quite the opposite is true. His aim is not for women to bend to male ways of working. Rather, he believes that true equality in the workplace is long overdue and could be achieved if there was a better understanding of how men and women prefer to do business. He joins me on the line from Vancouver. Good morning, Chris. Good morning. Now we should start off for some definitions. What's your definition? Often Alfa Male. My definition of an alpha male is a man that's driven in business and takes a lot of pride in closing deals, putting partnership together and, most importantly, making money. So how can you spot whether you've got any in your office? Well, the ultra males are normally the males who are not that interested in partnering up with people that they don't think can make money. They're often the overly aggressive type, or they may be one is that, like to argue just for argument's sake? Well, your book jacket calls you a reformed Elsa male. What does that mean? Well, it means that there's two types of alpha males. In my opinion, there's the Old Boys Club and these airmen that you know often in their early fifties and onward that don't really think that anything needs changing business. They think everything's fine the way it is and that we should just ride it out. A reformed Alfa male is a man who is really understanding of how and how important the role is that women playing.
