the Tower of London has a reputation for torture and imprisonment stemming from the Tudor period in the 16th and 17th century. During this time, physical torture methods such as the rack or Man Nichols were used. However, there are records of just 48 people being subjected to such horrific treatment. Undoubtedly, many others endured immense psychological torture while imprisoned. But it is the grim executions that took place at the tower, especially those of notable people that seemed to capture the most attention.
