How can we realize, protect and promote our right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment for everyone. We follow three guiding values, human rights, certain groups of people suffer disproportionately from negative environmental impacts, including those who are marginalized with a human rights based approach. We empower rights holders to realize their rights and meaningfully and effectively participate. And we also ensure that duty bearers such as states act accountably and lawfully to promote protect and respect rights without discrimination, gender equality and women's empowerment, women and girls often face higher risks and greater burdens from negative environmental impacts. In our work, we need to be sensitive to these disproportionate effects. We also need to respond with actions in language that advance gender equality and address root causes and shift power inequities. Leave no one behind whoever they are and whatever their circumstances, we must leave no one behind by identifying and involving affected or marginalized individuals, communities and groups. We can enable effective and meaningful participation so that everyone is empowered to realize their rights to have a truly sustainable and transformative impact through our work. We must follow these three guiding values in our approach and interventions and include everyone.
