Love is the affirmation of the pain of life. Our human lives are once filled with suffering. To be alive is to suffer. This has made most evident in the agony of love. The stronger the love we feel, an equal and opposite sense of agony will follow. If this is the case, why don't we reject love and therefore reject the accompanying agony? If love is the affirmation of the pain of life, but in rejecting love, we would be rejecting the pain of life by rejecting pain, were essentially succumbing to fear, fear or avoidance of pain with holds an individual from ever truly living their life. This is because life is suffering. Of course, life is so much more than just suffering, but without a doubt, being alive is painful up until the moment we are no longer alive. So to be rejecting this pain would be rejecting life itself. How can one live while rejecting living?
