Okay, so here's the question for today, Do you think we can tell a lot about ourselves by the monsters that we create? Those monsters. If we turn to history for an answer, we certainly can see some evidence of this being true like times in our distant past when demons were blamed for psychiatric for psychiatric patients symptoms, or when in medieval times, women in rural communities would seek mystical potions against demonic forces said to cause an unknown plague that swept rural communities and claiming the lives of their Children. Feelings of helplessness and powerlessness are certainly common when these unexplained events occur. And so there's a tendency to attribute these occurrences to something more tangible, like a monster. This has always been with us. You know, the old saying better the enemy I can see than the one I cannot that speaks to our need to cope with these feelings. And so the creation of the monster provides us some sense of control in the midst of unexplained events. Now you all can relate to the fear of the darkest Children, right? Well, it's a part of us being human. And so Children, we create these monsters under the bed and in the closet because as Children, we don't know to look at why we are afraid of the dark, just that we are.
