Mhm, Yeah, one. Welcome to the body that minds us podcast about all topics related to the connection between biology, behavior, culture and socio political environment. I'm your host, Dr Lovey, and my guest on today's show is a sexologist, and the topic for this episode is sexual wellness. But first we're going to take it to the streets. Would you be willing to answer a few questions about sexual wellness? Sure, during your routine medical visits. Has your primary care physician or family doctor ever asked you about your sex drive, your sexual wellness or your libido? I never even thought about it. But no, I've never had that question asked to me by my doctor. No, I ain't never got asked. No, not on mine. No, no, no, Not that I remember. Maybe they asked about my marital status. Only thing sexual like you're single or married or like, are you sexually active? Do you think that it's important for your physician to routinely ask you questions about your sex life. I think it's fairly to moderately important certain things that are going on in somebody's sexual life and impact their mental health as well. So I think that it's important for doctors to get a complete sense of their patients. Should ask, Have you got your STD check up and stuff like that? I think that would be important to know, just making sure you're where you're supposed to be at a certain age. Very important. I think it is important, because by what's happening with your organ, the way that it's working tells a lot about the shape of their health. So it seems like it should be a question of the task. How important overall is sex in a relationship? It just depends on the relationship, because for me it's about the intimacy, the closeness that you have with somebody. I think it's like 75% a point because I feel like you need touch to emotionally connect with somebody. I feel like it is important, like 95%. Could you have a relationship without it? I think so. I'm sure there will be intimacy other ways. What would. There may be your partners a sexual I think I could. You can definitely get more out of a relationship by just hugging and cuddling than I do with having sex. I'm practicing celibacy, so I don't know if I'm the best person. That's that question, but it is very important. Mhm the new 95 1 kv cm Monarch radio.
