umbrella. A story written and narrated by Duncan went, why is it always raining here? It never fails. Never. And of course this damn bus stop isn't covered, so I just have to stand here and wait for a bus that's never on time whilst getting soaked. It wouldn't be so bad if my umbrella hadn't broken a week ago and I keep forgetting to buy a new one. Just then I feel the rain stopped and I begin to hear the familiar sound of water droplets bouncing off nylon above me. I turn around to see who's just become my modest hero of the day. It's a girl. Well, a woman, I guess she looks like an adult. Anyways, she's holding her umbrella out to cover me from the rain while staying close enough to keep herself dry. She gives me a pleasant smile, seems very friendly. I'm not entirely sure how to respond as people rarely do any favors for me, so just stand there staring while she protects me from the rain after Solomon of awkward silence and unintentional staring contest that I lost. I finally managed to say thanks, She replies with a chuckle, linda. No problem. As the bus arrives. I have never felt so awkward before
