yes or no. Think twice before you say yes, Yes, answered Radic loudly and confidently, smiling at the officer. But the officer didn't smile back. His face was like that of a statue, Sir, Did you understand the question? Asked the officer. Yes, said erratic. A little bit less confidently. The officer pulled out his gun and said something into his walkie talkie. Radic and his new bride, Svetlana, stared in utter amazement at five other policemen rushing towards their car with automatic guns. Get out of the car slowly, both of you, and put your hands in the air, said the officer. Severely. Two years earlier at Akin, Svetlana met at the birthday party of a mutual friend, erratic. It was love at first sight fed. Lana was more careful, and it took her a while before she agreed to date him. At the beginning, they only went out once a week. But later on they spent every weekend together and often saw each other several times during the week. One night during a candlelight dinner, Radic s pet. Lana, will you marry me? Maybe, she answered, smiling at him mischievously. But when I decided to say yes, it's going to be at some romantic place. She was just teasing him. Erratic took it very seriously. He thought about it and he decided that Niagara Falls would be the perfect place. It took him a year to make all the preparations. He even enrolled himself in an English course. We would show Svetlana he would shows Falana that he was a man of the world. He spoke German and Russian very well, but English was a weakness. But he was not worried too much. He had spoken English with people before. He had a trick for that. When they asked him a question he didn't understand. He answered yes and smiled. It was really easy, and it worked. Most of the time. Svetlana was in seventh heaven. She was a romantic soul, and a wedding at Niagara Falls was just perfect for her. She couldn't wait. Finally, they arrived at Niagara Falls. The wedding was marvelous. Radic did a good job. He had a talent for organizing things, but that was not all. They still had another week in front of them, and Radic had planned a one day trip to the United States. It was just around the corner. Niagara Falls is located right at Canada U. S. Border, the Canada U. S. Border. What if they ask you something at the border as Svetlana? Crossing the US border isn't easy these days, and there will be no translator like at the wedding. Don't worry, said Radic. Leave it to me. I took English classes. They arrived at the border early in the morning. There were no other cars. The border officer was slowly approaching them. Just watch me, said Radic. You can learn something from me. He opened the window and handed the officer both passports. Good morning, said erratic, very politely and smiled. Good morning, sir, said the officer. Do you have any drugs or weapons in your possession? This time? Radic strict didn't work. They spent four hours at the border. They were released after the border Police made sure that the problem was not drugs or weapons, but the language barrier. Radic is not using his trick anymore.
