Hi. My name's William Boyd and I'm a novelist. I also write short storeys and scripts for films. And how did you start? I started, really? When I went to university, I did a lot of journalism, a lot of student journalism. I was a TV. Ah, not the TV critic, A film and theatre critic for the university newspaper. Nice job, and but over a lot of short storeys. I actually wrote a novel while I was a university, which I never tried to publish. It was an autobiographical novel all about me, and I just had to get out of my system, but not the kind of thing that I like to write. But it was really my university days that saw the beginning of my writing career.
