hello out there. How are you doing today? Call it Mercury in Retrograde or Pacey season and what not? But I've been feeling more introspective and self critical than usual. I haven't been participating much in social media either, and I'm feeling a little self conscious about it. Which is kind of funny to say right. I think this is partially linked to the thought that what I'm personally experiencing right now isn't quote unquote social media material, and now not everything needs to be public. But I had to pause and ask myself what it even means for me to think something as I g worthy or not, We live in a culture that encourages the showcasing of our accolades and accomplishments. And while I don't think this is inherently bad, it's important to recognize that what we see in the digital space is not a whole picture. I enjoyed getting to know writer and artist Monica You Sarovic beyond the phone screen. We've been acquainted for a while. There have mostly come to know her through her published writing and photography she shares online. I found that to talk about her experience as a writer is also to talk about her inner experience, which is not necessarily apparent on social media. We talk openly about her critical inner voice and self image, as well as how she's able to find tenderness for herself, their sense of interconnectedness in the world around her. We also talk about Perma Lansing stress eating Miyazaki soundtracks on more. Maybe you'll see a part of yourself in this conversation when things happen that make me feel like I have failed. I feel like wool. But of course, why wouldn't that happen? Of course, some people will tell me That's self sabotage yourself A filling prophecy. But it's so different when you're in. It gets so different when you understood yourself. A someone who's unimpressive, Kristen Silliere and you're turning into Kidnapped for dinner conversations with creatives, about disorienting moments in the creative process. Monaco Sarovic is a Miami based writer and photographer. She has contributed to a number of arts and culture publications, including Hyper Allergic Bomb Vice, the Los Angeles Review of Books, Hazlett and Filmmaker magazine. Monica is also the former film and performing arts editor for the Miami Rail, an independent extension of the Brooklyn Rail, and currently serves as a Web editor for Cultured magazine. Monica.
