My Tom House of Hope is a residential center and home for orphan Children and widows with HIV and AIDS. It was founded in 2005 and today some 600 clients have passed through its doors. The center provides medical care, food, education, community social services and rent support as needed. My Tom survives on donations and grants and has no direct government support. All visitors to my Tom are struck by love demonstrated among the Children, the adults, the volunteers in the founder of my Tom John **** Vietnamese priest, this soft spoken young man has become father to all of the orphans in the center and in the community. On is entering the center. The Children flocked to him, three younger ones pulling at his legs, the older ones looking for a hug to be self sufficient. Father John has aggressively sought grants internationally while establishing local businesses run by the adult clients as they improve health. There is a flower shop that sells flowers and also supplies hotels and corporate buildings, a dress shop that is working towards producing high end wedding dresses, and a free medical clinic funded by the Centers for Disease Control, United States For the My Tom clients, no child has been refused acceptance into the orphanage, no matter how desperate situation, and each is immediately accepted into the family, the center remains the only one of its kind in Vietnam.
