Since 1984 the lab has created space for the radical reimagining of artistic practices. Our artists are paid fair wages and given autonomy over the direction and presentation of their projects. As a result, the lab is proud to have garnered an international reputation for fair labor practices and artistic innovation. The lab has represented art that stands at the threshold of the unknown. It was one of the first fine art spaces dedicated to truly experimental interdisciplinary art and it has remained a beacon for risk taking culture. This is where we go to experience what creative freedom looks like, how it feels in our bodies and what it inspires in us.
