10. A party of ghosts evidence, L 11 41 to the investigation. I 72 or two part of a letter roman de bologna to a Zarin di bologna. Never sent. Not needed. Had you walked with us on the roads of paris in the old days, you would have heard many stories and yet the nightcrawlers cared only about those. Talking of a man and the world. The one with the gift to fulfill any wish, only one rule. It had to be your one true wish. If while walking in the shadows of a dark alley at midnight we met one of ours and asked him, what news do you bring, brother? They would respond. Have you heard of a moi moi? And if by the witching hour while hunting for prey, you talk to those of us who spy and report they would tell you and what. So when dark cave into the light on your way home to escape the sun. You thought what's my one true wish On the one tomorrow consider what you do. If that fine little man invited you to his castle? Imagine any wish you have heat, granite. If it is true, they say the hardest thing for those like us is dying. Others say it is to stay human as time carries us around. But we are like you, we want something. We don't know what it is. I never get it for you. It's years for us centuries now you understand why that night, many years ago when I received his invitation Against any logic, I accept it. The room was larger than Daniel had expected. Many crystal chandeliers descending from the ceiling and spread the yellow light of their candles, scattering it in thousands of floating sparks. A fresco painted straight on the ceiling and enclosed in an imposed oval, peeked through the chandeliers. It told the story of the clash between between two groups of angels, a multitude of angels wrapped in the white light, flu spiraling into the sky. Near the sun on the ground, a group of men shielded themselves behind an angel with golden wings and dressed like a roman soldier brandishing flaming sword. Some men leaned against his back as they took cover. One of them was whispering into the angels. Seeger's while he pointed toward the other group, Where he pointed the two angels in front of a crowd, one painted as a man wearing a robe and a crown and the other as a woman in armor wielding a sword. The man blocked the woman with one hand as he leaned forward, ready to fight his other hand, pointed at the sky. The fresco gave daniel an uneasy feeling that he couldn't explain and the more he studied it, the more sadness mounted in his heart sparkling decorations filled the room along all the walls and a few meters high when a small balcony crowded with people on the walls at the top of the balcony windows altered with large paintings that covered entire sections up to the ceiling. Each of these paintings depicted biblical scenes. Daniel recognized the genesis God creating mankind. I lose the first of all read. Greats blocked the view of the windows at the lower floor, where they were now walking behind the Prince. Against windows and paintings gave space to each other, separated only by small columns. Against the columns were statues of muscular men that emerged from the wall, each looking different from the others and each supporting the weight of the balcony on his shoulders. Dozens of people who populated the room, some chatted in groups and others on their own were tasting the food on display on the tables running near the walls. Food provided little to immortal bodies, but it was something that most nightcrawler stuck to, perhaps with the vain hope of remembering what it meant to be human, but the memoir had also provided food for suitable for immortals. Some guests use ladles to pour blood out of enormous glass bowls or eight slices of uncooked me, likely human as they chatted Daniels, Wolf held inside him, but his stomach twitched. None of the eight following. The prince cared about the food. I can't believe you all came. You give me a great honor and I will repay you for it for now, enjoy the party and this magnificent palace took a long time to get it back to its old glory. But I've had this place for ages and time is not that big of a deal for people like us again. None of them spoke. And Daniel limited himself to a nod. This palace is the most interesting place. It was a dormitory for young orphans. Nobody knows how it came to be. And underneath this ground, al Qaeda bombs a labyrinth that reaches every part of town. Can you believe it? No one has mapped it yet or not? All the tunnels at least. Where are my manners? And then he said, halting. I was taken by my story and I didn't ask. How were your travels travels, Alice asked in a high pitched voice. We didn't even know how we came here to be. Well, Miss Dryden, I hope you trust me. When I say it was the safest way to bring you here. I might have retired, but I have quite a flock of enemies. Still trust you. Say it would be easier to trust you if we didn't already know There was no way out of this place. The prince smiled. This is the issue. I guarantee you it is all so we can deal with our business here without being disturbed. The reason people call me prince in the old days is they treated me like one. Those knights, kings and princess were the first ones to die with a knife in their box. I'd rather keep us off the grid. Form mortals or anyone else with ill intentions or you'd rather keep inside those of us who want to leave. Instead, Alex murmured, but loud enough for the man to hurt her. MS Dryden, I see that Spencer's pupil is still a bit hotheaded youth, I guess. But please enjoy the party. Just enjoy the party now, now, he said, turning toward the land. What can my favorite profit say about my future, luann shrugged. Nothing. I lost the gift as soon as I left my land. That is sad, said the prince, but his voice betrayed a tone of mockery. Ignore me. It is just the fretting of a groom curious about his future married life. You already had my prediction many years ago, and it remains valid. Sit alone. His face contorted as if he were about to spit for a second. The moors eyes changed from those of a polite old man to something alien, but it lasted only an instant, and Daniel thought he had imagined it before. The prince could answer. Van Vlad's spoke. Are you getting married? I am, said the prince. His chest out
