veronica. It's nice to see you again. Dear! Betty jean's high pitched voice yelled out, How lovely to see you too. Mr Grant, Please call me Declan. It's a pleasure to see you too. Betty jean, it looks like you had a successful day at the market. He pointed at the multiple bags of vegetables she was holding in her hand. I look forward to saturday mornings at the market every week, she said, I didn't realize you two knew each other. Declan looked over at me and I could tell by a straight lipped smile that he wanted me to take over the conversation. Another long sip of water gave me enough time to think. I'm sure Betty jean knew by now that I was the one who found wanda. We don't really. I said, Declan is the lead detective on wanda's case and he had a few additional questions since I well found her body. Betty jane finished the sentence for me. I nodded you, poor dear. Any suspects yet May chimed in? It's unnerving. Going to bed at night knowing there's a murderer in this town, asleep alone, you know. May winked in Declan's direction. Declan rubbed his hand over his mouth to hide his amusement. I could tell he found the humor in May's intrigue with his detective work in a town like Blue haven. Everyone wanted to know everything all the time, crap. I was turning into one of those small towners. Look at me piggybacking on Declan's detective work at least I had a leg up on May. I was a journalist. Okay, I was a food blogger, but since wanda's death could have a serious impact on the fish on the beach bake off. One of the biggest reasons people read my blog, I have the right to stick my nose in this. That's what I was going to tell myself. Anyway. As I listened to Declan's response, it's an active investigation. Declan said, we have some leads and hope to close the book on this case soon. I sure hope so. May said, we have the utmost faith in you. Mr Grant. I should be going. It's almost time to open up the store. Ash should be going to. Betty jean said, I'll walk out with you. May you two enjoy your date.
