Thanks. When the song ended, mom untied her apron, picked up her car keys and walked towards the garage. I just remembered that we're out of butter, so I'll need to swing by fresh market. Be back shortly, Louis. Ok. Sure. Mom. Will you be able to manage everything while I'm gone? I gave her a thumbs up as soon as mom's car disappeared around the corner nut. He's demeanor changed. He jumped onto the countertop legs dangling and yelled food fight and then he reached into a bag of flour and plopped a fistful onto my head. Dude, I said, nervously brushing the flour out of my hair. What are you doing? My mom's gonna be back soon. Lighten up, man. It'll be fun. He said with a wink and a nod towards Ames having a food fight with Ames and nutty in my own kitchen did sound pretty exciting. Sure. I'd probably get grounded. But in that moment I didn't care. I said a quick prayer and hoped that mom would forgive us for destroying the kitchen and wasting food. Then I opened up the pantry door, pulled a box of fruity cereal from the shelf and started throwing handfuls at both of them. Ames yelled. Did someone say food fight? Awesome. She looked around for something to throw. Nutty, jumped off the countertop. He reached into a basket near the kitchen sink. Grabbed a ripe tomato and then smashed it on top of Ames's head. Red tomato juice poured down her hair and face. It was hilarious. Ames rushed to the refrigerator, scooped up a tray of eggs and started launching the matus crack slimy egg white and sticky yolk drip from my hair and apron. Gotcha. She laughed while reaching for another one. Ams was making me nervous. Please don't break all of them. My mom will freak out if we don't have enough of the cookies. But Ames and nutty were having too much fun to listen to me.
