a very good friend of mine just texted me, saying their mother had passed away. Her mom was 97 going to be 98 in one week's time. I knew exactly what to say to her, to comfort her as I lost my mother just this past November, and I am still grieving and still very sad about the loss. I was visiting my mom almost every day in a long term care home. Although my mom did not die of co vid, the pandemic for sure influenced her quality of life and also the care that she was getting because the home was so consumed with keeping co vid free that the little things that my mom was used to getting were no longer there. She put up a wonderful fight, as did my friend's mom, and all you can do when someone is grieving and going through loss is to be there for them and let them know that you understand
