Ah young child falls into a zoo's gorilla enclosure at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago. In 1996 90 Julia, a resident gorilla, cradled the toddler in her arms and carried the boy to the zoo's service door, where keepers aided the injured boy. Scientists have shown that gorillas living complex social groups display individual personalities, make and use tools and show emotions like grief and compassion. We shouldn't be surprised, though. Guerillas are one of our closest living relatives, and they share at least 95% of their DNA with humans. Cocoa is a 38 year old lowland gorilla, not only learned to speak sign language as a baby, but who has grown a love for kittens, whom she treats like her own Children. The gorilla is deeply compassionate towards her feline friends and could be seen often playing with her kitten friends or teaching him how to eat. She would pretend to bite, then would offer the morsel to the kids
