Invented by a gang of young bohemians and Rio in the late 19 fifties, bossa grew into a sixties phenomenon, especially in the U. S, where it became a youth craze and later a significant part of the modern jazz repertoire. In this one off documentary, Katy Derm travels to Rio de Janeiro to explore the story behind Brazil's most famous and enduring song, Origami. The ancient art of paper folding has been practiced for centuries, but now it's sparking a scientific revolution, propelling a wave of innovation. Origami patterns can be found everywhere, including on the surface of the human brain. Even the proteins within ourselves must be folded correctly to function. By mastering the rules of folding, scientists are creating novel drugs, shape shifting robots and materials with extraordinary properties known as the Origami Revolution.
