You have now reached the end of the exhibition. As you've progressed through the different rooms, you've discovered more about the history of this legendary ship to through a series of priceless original objects. But perhaps the most important part of the ship's history is not what you have seen. It's the stories that these objects represent, stories whose echoes can be heard to this day. But the story of the Titanic is not just the story of a ship. It's the story of the 2208 people who were traveling on board here in this final room. You can appreciate the true sense of the Titanic as a human tragedy around you are the names of all those who lost their lives. If you look closely, you can see families, young lives cut short and even small Children behind each name lies a story to be told and a life to remember. How can we explain the mythical status of the Titanic? Why more than a century on does it continue to fascinate us and captivate millions around the world? People called the Titanic, the ship of Dreams and in a way, it was not because it was the biggest, most luxurious or the fastest of the transatlantic liners at the time. But because it carried the dreams, hopes and desires of over 2200 people. This was the most valuable cargo and over and above the items on display. This is what the exhibition has sought to recover and preserve. If there's one thing we can learn from the story of the Titanic, it is the fragility of technology and how quickly myths and legends take hold. For as long as we continue to sail. The Seven Seas stories about the Titanic will continue to be told, it will always set sail from Southampton on its fatal maiden voyage. It will always hit the iceberg and it will always come to sync. This is only the start of an endless journey across the echoes of history. In the end, the bold claim made by White Star Lines all those years ago has proven true. The Titanic has become completely unthinkable.
