your majesty. Please heed my words. I am nothing more than a common street rat. But I beg of you to give me your ear. My entire life was spent in servitude to another, forced to follow the beck and call. Whoever would keep me alive. For just another day, I fought senseless battles just to scrape by. My life. Had no meaning other than the entertainment for those with money that I didn't have. I fought to stay alive day after day. And eventually I decided I'd rather risk it on my own and die with my freedom than swearing my life and loyalty to anybody ever again. But then your son saved my life me, a lonely commoner who had only just met. I didn't believe his words. Not at first I took it for more of the common lies I'd heard so often. His talk of walking amongst his people and seeing everybody in the empire's is equal. Wasn't just for show he proved that to me when I was just barely clinging to life beneath the rubble. I don't know how he did it. I won't question a blessing like that. But for the first time in my entire life, I have the chance to serve a cause that I believe in. I want nothing more than to stand by the future emperor of this nation. Please. Your majesty, grant me a chance. If you must strike me to test me, then I will take it. I will prove it to you. My resolve is unwavering, and I will not falter. In my belief, I will walk beside the future emperor. If I'm not strong enough to protect him, then I don't deserve to do so. I am ready.
