Hello and welcome to the annual 2020 Pegasus Awards, the Virtual award show celebrating the very best in poetry and written word. Tonight we will be acknowledging the works of two brilliant poets honored by receiving two of the most prestigious awards and American poetry together. Let's honor the works of these poets and celebrate their achievements as we share in the joy they bring to the world through their words. We will be presenting two awards for you this evening. The Pegasus Award for poetry criticism honoring the best book length work of criticism published this calendar year, and the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize honoring a living U S poet whose lifetime achievement worn extraordinary recognition.
