in a dynamic, changing, even unstable world. Traditional thinking comes up short. Organizations with ER companies lose two more innovative competitors. Voices go unheard and political instability disrupts human lives. Dr. Edward de Bono has developed a new approach parallel or lateral thinking called the Six Thinking Hats. The white hat is all about data, no judgment. What information do we know or need? Wouldn't wearing this hat you're not allowed to see is a good idea or a bad idea The entire team can wear the white hat for a person can be assigned to the white hat role in the old Dragnet TV. Siri's detective sergeant Friday, when interviewing a witness, would always say Just the facts. The yellow hat is positive. When wearing the yellow hat, you expressed optimism, brightness. You explore the positives, value and benefits of the idea and especially effective team strategy is assigning the yellow hat toe a person that is usually quick to think about the negatives of an idea. You have them play a new role. This enables an individual to essentially be an actor, separate themselves up it from their own identity and freer, safer to express a nontraditional viewpoint. the black hat. This is the basis for traditional Western thought. The person wearing the black hat is the devil's African spots. Difficulties asks. What could go wrong? This is a powerful and useful hat, and let me emphasize it is not bad. A black hat role is not evil, but it's often overused. Have you ever made a presentation to a room full of black hats? I have no fun. The red had his emotion. Intuition, hunches, gut feel. I like this. I hate this. I am excited about the idea. Three idea makes me sad or even angry. We're human. We have feelings we can where the red hat and free ourselves from the need to have data or even logic, to express a thought. The green hand is about creativity, possibilities in new ideas. Wear the green had to think about how an idea can be even better. What can we add to it? Be provocative. Push to move the thinking forward, not getting stuck in judgment. As I mentioned earlier, you can assign the green hat role to a person that is typically a black hat thing, prompting them to have a new perspective. Blue has orchestrate thinking. People wearing a blue hat bring together the thinking process. They integrate the thinking expressed by the team using the other hats. For example, green hat thinking prompted citing innovative possibilities yet black at picking spot. It's a serious risks. Blue hat thinking helps maximize the innovation while minimizing the risk. Wrapping this up six thinking hats brings fresh perspectives to help teams instead of judging, designed their way forward and think about what can be inclusivity is a big bonus. All voices could be heard in a safe, non judgmental manner. After all, it is not really me, that is expressiveness, unorthodox thought it is the hat. Now go do some six hat thinking.
