OK, Shakti. At the last session, we communicated with someone you said you would like to communicate with that same entity again today, I hear her say with an edge in her voice. Perhaps nerves. Would you like me to invite that spirit back here with us? Now, she is already here. I opened my eyes. Shock's head is inclined up to the ceiling like she is getting a tan but her eyes are closed, hard, fine lines, cracking the smooth skin. There is a grimace chiseled under her mouth. Her look is one of near terror. She's crying again. I can't stand it. Please ask her who she is and what she wants from me. If she is acting, I can't tell crazy or not. I feel a pull to act. Please listen to me. I say toward the top of the room. Whoever you are, tell me how shocked your eye can help you. And then I swear to all that I once believed in. I hear a sound, a quiet groan. A female tone barely audible like a faint rustle of leaves and a light breeze. My mouth is open and I'm unable to continue. I see Shakti looking at me, she says, what, what is it? I think I heard her. What did she say? It was just a moan. Not much at all. When was that? She asks? Two seconds ago, right after I asked how we can help, she puts her hand to her forehead. That is unbelievable. I mean, not unbelievable that you heard it. That I believe my body is rigid with tension. My mind is blank but I can't do nothing, forcing myself to stare straight ahead at Shakti and not up at the ceiling knowing that the charade is unnecessary. I ask in a normal volume spirit. Do you have a name? I wait hearing nothing. Then Shocky says, she says her name is Ruth. Shakti is now laughing. She has gone from terrified to ecstatic. Incredulous. I say I didn't hear anything. Shocky says with a manic Grint. Well, don't ask me to explain any of this while looking at Shakti. I say with some force, Ruth, we want to help you. What do you want? A few seconds tick by as we wait. Then suddenly Shakti pushes her chair away from the table, clutches both sides of her head and screams. I jump up an alarm immediately after that, Shakti begins crying. I rush over and from behind her, put my hand lightly on her shoulder. It takes some time for her sobbing to calm. I hand her a tissue box from the kitchen counter. She says, I'm sorry, it's ok. Now, gently, I say what happened right after you asked her that question, she yelled horribly worse than ever before. It was so real and desperate. It caught me by surprise. That scream completely freaked me out. I go back to my chair. Shock looks like a crumpled doll. Her face haggard and drained. She says, Ruth trailed off at the end getting fainter like she was running away or like the volume was being turned down and then off, standing back up. I walk over to the kitchen cabinet, take out two glasses and fill them with water at the sink, bring them to the table and place one in front of Shakti. I sit and take a long drink. We share the silence. I say Shakti Ruth pierced this plane not only reaching out to you, but now to me also, it might have been a surprise to her, who knows even scary or perhaps painful on some psychic level. Shakti says shaking her head. I'm at a loss for words. So am I and I need time to think. I walk her to the door and am in a daze as we agree to talk again soon.
