Hello. Recognise me. My name is John Deere. That's right. The John Deere. I was 52 years old when this photo was taken. I'm told it's the earliest surviving image of me. Maybe that's because I rarely sat still long enough for a portrait. And now who'd believe that my name would be known around the world? Okay, not to Brag, but I did. It started innocently enough in my blacksmith shop at Grand Detour Illinois. I was simply trying to help a neighbor plow his field. My idea was to feature steel in a new plow of my own design. Yep. New Tech for 1837. It was the beginning of everything.
