The siphon recorder apparatus consists of a very light coil of wire suspended between the two poles of an electro magnet and capable of turning on its vertical axis According to the direction of the current. The Coil turns one way or the other. The motion of this coil is transferred to a capillary glass siphon, one end of which is based in ink, while the other is approximated to a slip of paper, moved by clockwork. The ink being connected with a small electrostatic machine and the paper with the earth. The ink is attracted to the paper and issues from the capillary tube with a rapid succession of spurts.
